1st September 2011 - Terowie Railway Yard

Caravans and Motorhomes are all welcome to free camp at the old Railway Siding in Terowie which is located about 32k South East of Peterborough just off the Barrier Highway. The complete history of this old railway town is displayed on information boards around the old railway yards. Although the camping area is open and has no shade, it is well grassed and level. Septic toilets are located a short walk from the camping in the main street. With a population of just 150, the progress association has made an effort to make travellers welcome.

29th August 2011 – Carrieton

Carrieton, on the road between Hawker and Orooroo is an historic town that has a caravan park, community run general store and a pub. The town, that has plenty of character, has excellent examples of colonial type constructions. Well worth a stop and overnight stay.

26th August 2011 - Kanyaka Ruins

This historic site is located on the road from Quorn to Hawker when travelling towards the Flinders Ranges. Although no camping is allowed, it is well worth a stop and take a walk to the creek and then to the ruins of Kanyaka Homestead. There are informative signs that give an account of the trials and tribulations faced by the pioneers of this district

21st August 2011 - Warren Gorge

Along about 21k of reasonable dirt road North West of Quorn via Arden Vale Road is Warren Gorge where there are several slightly sloping sites suitable for caravans and motorhomes. Although more suitable to camper trailers, the effort of getting to the Gorge to spend some time is well worth while. There are two long drop toilets, plenty of shade and open sites, bins and wood fire places. There is a well marked walking track through the Gorge where you can find some of the Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies that were easy to find during the day.
