Point Lowly is located 35k North East of Whyalla. Turn off 65k South West of Port Augusta or 8k North Whyalla and follow Point Lowly Road. There are two camping sites near the boat ramp. One is powered (free) and the other is close to the boat ramp
A playground is located adjacent to the ablutions bock, that we were told, was to be replaced in the near future. The marina is suitable for swimming (sometimes with dolphins) and good fishing spots are available from the breakwater. There is a short walk to the lighthouse and further around is a long beach, which also has a small camping site with toilet facilities. All in all, a good place to rest a while, but unfortunately, the free power is difficult to obtain due to some selfish campers.
