6th December 2007 - Heron Bend Campsite - South Australia

This delightful river side location is approximately 1200 meters from the West Overland Corner Hotel, on the Northern side of the Murray River on the Barmera to Morgan road. Access is through a gate and past the toilet by following the dirt track to the river. Camping sites are well shaded, reasonably level and within easy walking distance to the toilet. Meals are available at the hotel daily. The river has a sandy bottom and access for swimming is easy. According to locals, this site is extremely popular during Christmas and Easter with crowded Caravan Park style camping. Only two other campers were here during our 5 day stay.
