18th September 2009 - Pertendi Hut Campground

Just West of the Victorian / South Australian border, North of Bordertown and South of Pinaroo is Pertendi Hut Campground. Level hard gravel sites, with wood BBQ’s amongst stunted growth with plenty of open space will suit most rigs. Three large tanks contain water for firefighting and a smaller tank for hand washing is attached to the long drop toilet. The old Pertendi hut has been re-furbished and is a good place to get out of the wind. There is a walking track that takes about 40 minutes to complete. For 4WD enthusiasts, there is also a track that leads to the border road that is open at the moment. When the fire tanks overflow, plenty of water is available for washing.
