11th February 2008 - Beachport - South Australia

Our first impression of Beachport was “WOW”. Although no free camping is permitted in the area, we considered Beachport as one of the nicest locations on the South Eastern Coast of South Australia that we have come across. Located between Mount Gambier and Kingston SE, Beachport is one of the few un-spoilt coastal villages we have seen. The town itself sits on a placid bay with a few shops and a long jetty which invites the angler to try and catch the elusive fish. The exposed coast has numerous isolated beaches that are accessible to the fisherman. The Pool of Siloam on the edge of town has a swimming platform for those that wish to try out the joys of floating in the salt laden pool. We shall return.
