8th February 2008 - Robe - South Australia

126k’s North West of Mount Gambier is the coastal village of Robe. With an interesting history, Robe is worth a stay whilst touring the Limestone coast. Many coastal tracks, including one that takes you to the old goal and the Obelisk, are very rewarding with views overlooking the any sandy beaches that jot the coastline. An old German mine is located near the Robe Marina which is a short stroll past the Information Centre and Post Office. Some of the island rock formations are clearly visible when at the obelisk and when following the cliff track back to the jetty. Well worth a look and stay if in the area.
